With the Class of 2022 only two months away from graduation, St. Timothy’s is proud to announce that alumna Mary-Copeland Cain ’09 will be this year’s commencement speaker.
After graduation from St. Timothy’s, Mary-Copeland attended Saint Mary’s High School. She served as a member of the Vestry, Granddaughter’s Club and supported international students as a GAP prefect. Off campus, Mary-Copeland was a competitive equestrian on the local and regional Hunter Jumper circuit.
Mary-Copeland then attended the University of South Carolina, where she was involved in Student Government, Greek Life, IHSA Equestrian Team and the “It’s On Us” campaign. During the summers, Mary-Copeland interned at Gyro, a San Francisco-based advertising agency.
Just a few days after college graduation, Mary-Copeland moved to Brooklyn, New York to work for an up-and-coming advertising agency, Hello Elephant. Mary-Copeland worked closely with clients such as Comcast, Goldman Sachs and M2M, but spent most of her time working on digital and commercial projects for Apple. Most notably, Mary-Copeland helped manage the partnership for the “Apple at Work” team. Apple at Work is a program that connects Apple products and services with enterprise accounts and small business owners.
After living in New York, Mary-Copeland made a big switch and moved to Park City, Utah to work for U.S. Ski & Snowboard, an Olympic sports organization. While new to snow and skis, Mary-Copeland was no stranger to the partnership and the big brand world. From local competitions to the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, Mary-Copeland serves as a liaison between athletes and brands throughout the year.
We are excited to welcome Mary-Copeland back to campus this June!
