Joe is an attorney with Maynard Nexsen, a certified mediator, and executive coach working with professionals, business owners, and executives to solve problems and develop strategies for preventing, managing, and resolving disputes. He is an alumnus of St. Timothy’s. He and his wife, Ann, are the parents of a ’17 alum.
As legal counsel, his work includes preventive diagnostics, internal training, facilitation, coaching, and ongoing consulting designed to reduce the likelihood of expensive litigation and decrease an organization’s dependency on outside counsel.
As an executive coach, he provides personal consultation to professionals and senior management to review issues such as implementing business strategy, developing leadership skills, increasing personal effectiveness, and creating a better balance between personal and professional life.
As a mediator, he designs and implements programs for dispute resolution and works with individuals or teams to resolve conflicts and restore constructive working relationships. He serves as a certified Superior Court mediator experienced in resolving complex commercial disputes.
Joe is a member of the American Bar Association Section on Dispute Resolution and a visiting lecturer at North Carolina State University’s College of Management. He holds a law degree and a master’s degree in International Law from Duke University, is trained and certified as a mediator by the Duke Private Adjudication Center, and has trained in advanced negotiation skills at the Harvard Program on Negotiation.
Dr. Ndidi Azikiwe is a General and Trauma Surgeon at WakeMed and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at UNC School of Medicine, and has served on the Vestry of St. Timothy’s Church. She and her husband, Shane Manuel, are the parents of ’21 and ’24 St. Timothy’s School alumni.
Ndidi is a graduate of Lincoln University, a Historically Black College and University in Pennsylvania. After receiving her Medical Doctorate at the Medical College of Pennsylvania Hahnemann University School of Medicine, she completed her surgical residency at Carillion Health System in Roanoke, Virginia, and a fellowship in laparoscopy and minimally invasive surgery at St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco, California. She joined the faculty of the General Surgery and Trauma Department at Wakemed Health and Hospitals in 2005. She is board certified in general surgery and her clinical interests include advanced laparoscopy and robotic surgery, and endocrine.
Rob is an Executive Director for HPS Investment Partners. He and his wife, Laura, are the parents of one current St. Timothy’s student ‘25, and two alumni, ’18 and ’20.
Robert raises investment capital for HPS Investment Partners’ suite of private credit strategies. Rob has over twenty-five years of alternative investment and business development experience across hedge fund, private equity, and private credit strategies.
Prior to his current role, Rob (and a fellow St. Timothy’s parent) helped Switzerland-based LGT Capital Partners to build a division focused on US investors. Rob also served as President of Hatteras Funds and Director of National Sales & Marketing at Wilbanks, Smith & Thomas, where he led the firm’s sales and distribution initiatives, marketing efforts, and national account relationships.
Rob has also served as Vice President of Alternative Strategies at Highland Associates, where he performed alternative investment strategy research, alternative investment manager search and due diligence, and client education. He was also an Associate at Galway Partners, a Washington, D.C.-based merchant banking firm with a special focus on mezzanine and venture finance.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington & Lee University and his Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in management and entrepreneurship from the University of Florida. Rob has served on advisory and alumni boards for W&L, Woodberry Forest School, the NC Museum of Art, and the YMCA’s “Y Guides” program.
Elizabeth has extensive experience in finance and treasury within banking and financial institutions. She is currently the Chief Investment and ALM Officer at Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union. She and her husband, Brian, are the parents of alumni from the classes of ’20 and ’23.
Elizabeth’s primary responsibilities include Asset Liability Management, Portfolio Management, Capital Management, Funding & Liquidity Management, and Stress Testing. Her expertise includes managing the Treasury structure, talent, governance frameworks and policies, reporting and metrics, and execution of activities and operations. She also has a solid foundation in communicating and presenting to Executive Management, Boards, Regulators, and Rating Agencies. Her previous tenures included First Citizens Bank, RBC Bank/RBC Centura, Jefferson Pilot Financial, and Wachovia Bank.
She received her Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and before that, her Bachelor of Arts from Duke University.
Dan is a lifelong Raleigh resident and a partner with Poyner Spruill, LLP. He and his wife, Sallie, have three children, including a ’14 alum and Twin sons who attended through fourth grade.
Dan has been Poyner Spruill’s Managing Partner since June 2017 and serves as the Chair of the firm’s Management Committee. He is also the firm’s assistant general counsel and loss prevention partner, and formerly served as the Litigation Section Leader. He has spent nearly 30 years representing corporations in all types of commercial disputes in state and federal court, and through alternative dispute resolution.
His list of professional and community activities includes the Raleigh Chamber Board of Directors 2018-2023; General Counsel 2019-2020; Treasurer 2020-2021; Chair-Elect 2021-2022; Chair 2022-2023, St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, Vestry 2016-2019, Junior Warden 2019, Note in the Pocket, Board of Directors 2013-2018, Artspace, Board of Directors, 2009 – 2015; Chair 2012-2013, North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, Defense Research Institute (DRI), North Carolina Bar Association, and Leadership Raleigh Graduate, Class of 2006.
Dan graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy Analysis and a Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University School of Law.
Jim is the owner of Center Management, an asset management firm focusing on shopping centers in North Carolina, Virginia, Delaware, and Maryland. Previously, Jim was a certified public accountant with Ernst & Young and a chief financial officer for various companies. Jim is married to Copie, and they are the parents of two STS alumni, ’09 and ’14. Copie was both a volunteer and an employee of St Timothy’s School.
This is Jim’s second time serving on the St. Timothy’s Board of Trustees. He previously spent 7+ years as a member of the St. Timothy’s board of directors and also served as Treasurer and a vestry member for Christ Church in Raleigh. During his tenure with the St. Timothy’s Board, he chaired the Capital Campaign to raise funds for the construction of the current middle school building at a crucial time in the school’s growth. He also chaired the Finance Committee, helping to navigate St. Timothy’s through the economic challenges of the 2008 period. Jim served on the selection committee responsible for hiring the current Head of School, Tim Tinnesz, and both he and his wife, Copie, served valuable roles working through the school’s transition between Heads of School. Jim was also an instrumental contributor to the school’s current Strategic Plan.
Jim earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics from Wake Forest University and a Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University School of Law.
Steve Dixon works for Highwoods Properties as the Vice President, Portfolio Operations. His role relates to the management of the company’s building assets, energy efficiency, capital projects, acquisitions, sustainability, and reducing operational costs. He and his wife, Susan, are the parents of three St. Timothy’s alumni from the classes of ’08, ’11, and ’14.
Steve previously worked for the Raleigh, NC-based electrical utility Progress Energy, where he had roles in energy management, customer service, marketing, and website data/project management. Before joining Progress, he was employed in building construction and mechanical design.
In addition to his service for the Board of Trustees for St. Timothy’s School, Steve previously served on the Board of Trustees for St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Raleigh, NC.
Steve received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University and is a Professional Engineer in multiple states. He is a LEED AP and also holds construction licenses in North Carolina for General Contracting, Electrical, and HVAC/Plumbing, as well as a Certified Energy Manager.
Nicholas (Nick) Lombardi, Jr., CPA, is the Managing Partner and Senior Auditor Partner of Stancil CPA·Advisors in Raleigh, NC. He and his wife, Kathryn Jo Lombardi, DVM, are the proud parents of a ’23 alum.
Nick joined the Stancil team in 1994 after working in the banking industry for over ten years. Nick serves clients in the firm’s accounting and auditing, taxation, and small business consulting practice areas. He works extensively with both for-profit and not-for-profit entities, including foundations, associations, medical and dental practices, construction contractors, and other closely held businesses.
Nick is a former chairperson of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants’ Accounting and Attestation Committee and the NCACPA’s Not-For-Profit Committee. In addition, Nick was a frequent speaker for SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) and a contributing author for the NCACPA’s magazine Interim Report, and the North Carolina Center for Nonprofits’ quarterly newsletter Common Ground. Nick is continually active in the community, having volunteered his time serving on not-for-profit boards and as an advisor to various not-for-profit entities.
Nick is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.
Chuck is an attorney. He and his wife, Laura, are the parents of a ’93 and ‘99 St. Timothy’s graduate.
He served two years on active duty as an officer in the U.S. Navy, achieving the rank of Captain in his subsequent Naval Reserve service. Chuck also served as senior warden of the Christ Episcopal Church Vestry, president of the Occoneechee Council of the Boy Scouts of America and president of the Rex Hospital Foundation, he is past chairman of the Triangle Land Conservancy and on the board of the School of Government Foundation, UNC Chapel Hill, the North Carolina Free Enterprise Foundation and the Dix Visionaries, a group dedicated to the preservation of the grounds of the Dorothea Dix Hospital as a destination park. He was elected three times to the North Carolina General Assembly.
Chuck received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina and his Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law.
Born and raised in Raleigh, NC, Maria Plentl is Vice President of Clinical Affairs at Galvanize Therapeutics. She is also an alumnus of St. Timothy’s School, along with her younger brother. Maria and her husband, Will, are the parents of a ’20 and ’17 graduate.
Maria has been employed in the medical device industry for over 20 years with experience focused specifically on research and development of minimally invasive therapies in the field of oncology. In addition to serving St. Timothy’s school, Maria supports the Society of International Oncology as a research and strategy consultant.
Maria holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University and is a certified nurse practitioner through the National Certification Corporation.
Aaron G. Spencer is a partner at the law firm Williams Mullen. He and his wife, Heather Bridgers, have two daughters, class of ’18 and ’16, having attended St. Timothy’s from Pre-K through 8th grade.
For nearly 25 years, he has served as a trusted advisor to his clients, both private and public, and in a broad spectrum of industries, including the software and technology, manufacturing and distribution, and pharmaceutical industries. Aaron concentrates his practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate finance, joint ventures, complex commercial contracts, and technology transactions. He is a member of the firm’s Private Equity and M&A practices.
Aaron is a member of the Business Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. He served three terms on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Museum of Art Foundation (including service on the Audit Committee), currently serves on the Firm’s Retirement and Compensation Committees, and serves in the role of Team Leader for the Firm’s North Carolina Corporate Practice Team.
Before earning his Juris Doctor from the Southern Methodist University School of Law, he received a joint degree in accounting and French from Oklahoma State University. While working on his French degree, he studied abroad at the Université Stendhal in Grenoble, France.
Web is a successful entrepreneur working in the technology industry. He and his wife, Olga, are the parents of a ’17 and ’21 graduate.
Web is the founder and CEO of Integrated Analytics. Previously, he has served as a Professor in the Department of Statistics at North Carolina State University, Texas A&M University, and as an Associate Professor with the University of South Carolina. His teaching experience includes Introductory Statistics, Statistics for Engineers, Quality Control, Mathematical Statistics, Time Series, Statistical Computing, and Stochastic Processes.
He has chaired several sections of the American Statistical Association and has over 30 refereed publications.
Web’s degrees include a PhD in Statistics from Rice University and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Arkansas.
Father Allen is the third rector of St. Timothy’s Church (beginning in March 2019). He and his wife, Angelica, have one daughter (’30), who is a proud St. Timothy’s Titan.
Before his role at St. Timothy’s, Father Allen worked and resided in the United Kingdom, being ordained as a priest in the Church of England in 2016. Prior to his vocation as a priest, he worked for non-profit organizations around the southeast of England, mainly coordinating and mentoring international students and volunteers.
Emerging from the pandemic, Father Allen has focused much of his attention on rebuilding the
Ministry of St. Timothy’s Church. With the congregation having returned to its pre-pandemic size, and a significant portion of the congregation being new members, his hope is to continuing growing and shaping the St. Timothy’s Church community into one reflecting the Church Jesus established through his apostles: rooted in the scriptures, the sacraments; and the fellowship of believers; preaching a message of repentance from sin and God’s forgiving grace; dedicated to proclaiming the gospel in word and deed; and loving our neighbors as ourselves, seeking peace with all and goodwill for all.
Father Allen holds a Bachelor of Arts from James Madison University in Philosophy and Comparative Religions as well as a Bachelor of Theology degree from Oxford University.
Suzanne is President of the North Carolina Association for Biomedical Research (NCABR). She and her husband, Bill, are the parents of a St. Timothy’s ’23 alum.
NCABR, located in Raleigh, is a science education nonprofit organization that is administratively housed at the Duke University School of Medicine. Prior to joining Duke/NCABR, Suzanne wrote for newspapers at UNC and the Winston-Salem Journal, and she worked in medical center media relations at UNC.
She serves on the Board of Directors (Treasurer) for the States United for Biomedical Research, is a Board Member for the Society for Scientific Advancement, and is a Member of the National Charity League, Longleaf Pine Chapter. She teaches Sunday School and serves as a UNW Circle #3 Leaser at Edenton United Methodist Church.
Suzanne received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in Political Science and Journalism and Mass Communication, News/Editorial Sequence.
